Works great, looks good, good price, but overflow needs work-around

We bought three of these for a very good late-summer price. Works great, highly recommend the stand. Love the fact that the brown color is almost invisible so it looks great even near the front of the house (many others are too ugly). I would love to give it 5 stars but the design for overflow is pretty poor. When it rains really hard & fast we discovered that the water came out thru the screen, before it came out the built-in overflow, and the screen even floated off its hole. So we put a rock on top of the screen. Overflowing thru the screen is probably because that hole is much bigger than the designated overflow hole (which also forces water to make a right-angle turn, slowing it down further). The company should have spent a few more pennies to make the overflow hole bigger, maybe straighter, and put some threads on it so you could attach a garden hose to divert the water further out from the foundation. We cut off a hose and stuffed it in. (Note: because of the right-angle, if you stuff it too far you plug it). Fortunately we chose to use a DIY downspout converter to fill our barrel, which, once the fill tube is full, forces most of the overflow down the downspout. Lessened the problem but didn't eliminate it. Another option is to cut off one of the knobs on the side (meant for connecting barrels?) and clamp a tube or hose around that-another small overflow hole. Still recommend this barrel, with some work-arounds.
Pros: Easy setup, good price, brown color looks good, made-to-fit stand (sold separately),
Cons: poor overflow design - overflows too close to foundation, screen floats off
